Common-Mode Voltage Mitigation of Dual T-Type Inverter Drives Using Fast MPC Approach

This article proposes an intensive study for common-mode voltage (CMV) elimination/reduction in a five-level dual T-type multilevel converter (MLC) drive. An advanced and fast model predictive control (MPC) approach is developed CMV reduction (CMVR) elimination based on the preselection of switching states (SS). In addition, proposed considers torque capacitor balancing drive as essential aspects MLC drives. A detailed impact SS presented. The main features MPC are reducing complexity cost-function, tuning burden weighting factors, computation time by more than 80% compared to conventional techniques. hardware implementation Silicon Carbide built. experimental results demonstrate effectiveness mitigate/eliminate along with achieving command dc-link capacitors. Unlike CMVR techniques, reduces 75% its normal values without jeopardizing harmonic contents, efficiency, flux well ripples.
